Mediterranean gem, travel to Turkey The self declared state of North Cyprus is recognized by none but Turkey and is also known as the “Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus”. Also commonly referred to as the Mediterranean gem, it is located on the northeastern part of the Cyprus Island. North Cyprus is fast becoming a hot tourist destination for people all over the world. Wildlife includes the green turtle and the loggerhead turtle that are found on the north Cyprus beaches.
